This session was one of my favorite newborn shoots. I love Julie and Doug’s style, and their love for Weston definitely shows through their photos. We had an at-home session in Austin with the majority of the photos taken in his very modern nursery. With many feedings, and shhhhhh’s we finally managed to get the sweet little guy to fall sound asleep and got some beautiful shots along the way.
The Botanic Gardens was the perfect place for this family’s photo shoot. They were looking for a place that would give them a little variety in their photos, but still had that intimate feel. And, we got just that. This family was so relaxed and natural, and didn’t seem to worry about the camera in front of them which is exactly why they nailed this lifestyle shoot.
Here is yet another one of my favorite family sessions. This family’s shoot has a good mix of lifestyle and posed photos. However, with a set of 3 year old twins and a 4 year old, posing photos is easier said than done. But, honestly I feel that candid photos sometimes turn out better than when everyone is looking directly at the camera. It provides a more real-life photo where you can catch real smiles and actions that bring a whole other element to a photo.
Often maternity sessions cross over as family shoots, and this is exactly one of those times. With this shoot I got to capture this beautiful expecting couple play with their 2 year old for one of the last times as a family of 3. They also chose an outdoor location, and the wooded scenery here in Austin made for the perfect spot.
This maternity session was actually at this couple’s Austin home, and may I say it was the perfect setting. I love outdoor maternity sessions and this one was no different. The lighting was perfect and the couple couldn’t have been easier to photograph. With this session there is a nice blend of posed and natural shots. I couldn’t have asked for a better session.
This is another in-home shoot here in Austin where I captured the special bond between parents and their new little one. There is nothing more special than getting to hold your baby in their first few days of life, and for me to be able co capture those moments are priceless. Newborn sessions are almost always done in their home to create the most comforting, warm environment for the baby. It’s kind of hard to stay away from posed newborn shots, but the candid photos I capture between mom, dad, and baby are breathtaking and without a doubt my favorite.
This family’s style goes perfectly with their Texas, western themed home. We chose this Texas outdoor location because it had so many photo opportunities from the bridge to the old building surrounding the park. It was a perfect day and an even better location for this family. In order to capture the true essence of lifestyle you have to have fun and enjoy the moment. This will produce candid smiles and laughs that make for fabulous photos.
This newborn session was taken at this sweet baby’s home in Austin where she was completely surrounded by her loving family. They were just in awe of her beauty, and I wanted to make sure I captured that with my photos. I made sure to capture this precious little girl with each family member, and by the look on their faces they are completely in love. Newborn shoots just may be my favorite because of the excitement and joy a precious baby can bring to one family.
